Golden Hills 2024 Edwin Parr Teacher Award Nominee Announced

Golden Hills School Divisions Board of Trustees is excited to nominate Chelsea Czibere, a grade 2 and grade 3 teacher at Dr. Elliott School in Linden, for this year’s Edwin Parr Award.

Chelsea has an unwavering commitment to building meaningful connections with her students, colleagues and parents. “You can totally sit with us,” is Chelsea’s classroom motto which epitomizes her talent for fostering a sense of belonging and acceptance among her students. Chelsea's dedication to supporting the diverse needs of her students is exemplary. She invests time in developing personal relationships with each student, incorporating their interests and strengths into her lessons.

As a collaborative team member, Chelsea actively engages with staff, offering ideas, planning, and sharing her time and resources. She wholeheartedly supports division-level, tri-campus, and school-based collaborative groups, contributing to the collective growth and success of the educational community.

The award, named in honour of Edwin Parr, former President of the Alberta School Boards Association (ASBA), was established almost 60 years ago to recognize outstanding first year teachers. School Boards across the province nominate one exceptional candidate to their ASBA Zone Committee each year. Successful nominees from each of the six Zones will be honoured at the association’s Fall General Meeting.

Congratulations Chelsea!
